Nothing quite like watching your favorite manga artist draw real...In the Hideko Mizuno’s profile I posted some days ago I already wrote about her debut as a manga artist in 1955, which makes her the third professional female mangaka after Sazae-san’s Machiko Hasegawa and Glass no Shiro (Glass Castle)’s Masako Watanabe.

One of my prized manga possessions is a three volume reprint of Hideko’s Fire–I can only read some of it (my Japanese is very poor) but I’ve spent hours looking at every page–it’s absolutely beautiful. There’s such little info about Hideko in English–I can’t wait to hear/read the full interview–thank you!
